UPP Power (Myanmar) Limited is one of Myanmar’s first foreign-owned independent power producers and accounts for about 2% of the country’s total power generation.  Our 50MW gas-fired power plant is located in Ywama, Insein township, 25km northeast of Yangon, Myanmar.  Commercial operations started in 2014.  We are contracted to sell a minimum of 350million kwH per year, for a period of 30 years, to the Myanmar Government.  Operations and maintenance are contracted out.

Electrification rate in Myanmar is relatively low and hence, the appetite for more power is evident as the country continues to develop and industrialise.
